Foodbank grows

Our Foodbank continues to serve many people from the community. We're also blessed that the community supports us the way it does. We have regular donations from Littleborough Runners, Saplings grownups and St Mary's church. We also appreciate every tin and packet that comes from our congregation, individuals and a regular money gift from an anonymous donor. Everything helps alleviate food poverty in our area.

Added to this we have people who began as collectors, became part of the team and church and are now living better lives and moving on to be free of addiction and set up in homes and on the path to a new life. This is the best outcome we can have. Not just a temporary fix but a permanent change for the better.

Kids Klub Knights and Princesses

Our Kids Klub theme for the Spring term was Knights and Princesses. We had great fun with Medieval themed games and crafts. Our Bible stories were all about Moses before half term and a count-down to Easter afterwards.

It was an honour on Good Friday for some of our group to lead songs, alongside our brothers and sisters from the Salvation Army in the Town Centre. Others from our family joined friends from many churches around the town in singing along and listening to stories from two amazing young men, about how Jesus had changed their lives. We know God is pleased when is church works together like this.

Quite a time at Quinta

At the end of March we took our annual trip to Quinta Christian Centre for our weekend away. 101 people came - the most ever!

We had teaching in the morning, free time in the afternoon (including swimming) and fun and games at night.< ...........

We had teaching in the morning, free time in the afternoon (including swimming) and fun and games at night.

With thanks to Raise who took on our kids work, which was amazing.

We've already booked for the next two years.

In March some of our ladies gathered together for an afternoon of sharing, chatting and generally loving each other. We had a fun icebreaker, designed to get to know each other a little better, a talk about God's love and the love we share and a testimony of being set free from anger. We enjoyed sandwiches, sausage rolls and cakes and had a lovely time of fellowship together.

Saplings time change is a success

Towards the end of 2025 we changed the time of Saplings from a morning to an afternoon. We're pleased to say this has been a runaway success with many new families, carers and children coming along. They're an absolutely lovely bunch who chat ...........

Towards the end of 2025 we changed the time of Saplings from a morning to an afternoon. We're pleased to say this has been a runaway success with many new families, carers and children coming along. They're an absolutely lovely bunch who chat and natter to each other and all the children seem to rub along happily.

Each week we wonder if we're full but then decide there's room for a couple more!

At the Youth Gathering in February the theme was Love and identity. It was great to see young people from around the town, join our own group in worship and prayer for themselves an others. The team set the room up with balloons, hearts and activities before talking about God's love for us and how he sees us.
Youth Night is back on as normal with games, snacks and crafts tonight 6:30pm to 7:30pm. It's a safe free space for anyone at High School.

We had the joy of baptising Jeanette and joining her in dedicating two of her children. Jeanette shared how she had grown up in a church, but circumstances of life had caused her to doubt. Coming to Branches a few years ago, felt like 'coming home' and she experienced God in a new and personal way. She and the girls bless our family beyond words and we were thrilled to see the family make this step in their journey.

In February some of our children's workers went to the Hand in Hand Conference in Birmingham. We're blessed to have over 20 people working with children at Branches and the ones who plan and lead were funded to go. We had an amazing time in ...........

In February some of our children's workers went to the Hand in Hand Conference in Birmingham. We're blessed to have over 20 people working with children at Branches and the ones who plan and lead were funded to go. We had an amazing time in seminars, watching keynote speakers and buying resources. We're already implementing some of what we learnt.
It's also an opportunity to find time to chat and swap ideas, contribute to maps of work around the country, share testimonies (the card wall) and take home souvenirs. Each delegate was asked to pick a brick, considering we're called the Branches it was interesting we got one that said 'Rooted'.
We took the lovely Marie from Kirkholt CC with us, who felt like we'd been a team for years; a living example of being one family with different expressions. We also caught up with Andy and Vicky from Raise who are coming to facilitate the children's work at our weekend away this year.
We were looking forward to next year before we'd even got in the car!

Sunday School grows

We're thrilled that our Sunday School has 8 teachers and 5 helpers, with some regular 'guest' leaders as well. We have 40+ children in our church and run 3 classes.

We're thrilled that our Sunday School has 8 teachers and 5 helpers, with some regular 'guest' leaders as well. We have 40+ children in our church and run 3 classes.

We use fun, games, crafts and story telling to teach the children Bible stories and truths about Jesus. We also pray together and help out with church events.

We had the privilege of another dedication to start our year off. This time it was Michael and Sona's turn to thank God for the gift of their beautiful children, and promise to tell them about Jesus and all he has done for them. As usual we gave words of encouragement and prophecy from the Bible, to encourage them as they grow up. We love the joy on the family's faces as they are told how God loves them.
